There are a number of ways to contact the management company on this page. You can update your records, report a maintenance problem or request CCTV.  You can also view a copy of the rules and regulations that help to manage the site.

Portland Mews Regulations and Information

To ensure Portland Mews is maintained to the best possible standard, there are a number of conditions within the lease agreement together with additional Rule & Regulations that residents of Portland Mews must agree to before purchasing their property.

 

The conditions below should not be seen as a hindrance, but as a safeguard, ensuring you have the best possible standard of living.

Garden Maintenance

A contractor is employed by the Management Company to maintain the gardens on a weekly basis.

 

Window cleaning

A contractor is employed to clean apartment widows (excluding skylights) every four weeks. As part of their contract they also change any external light bulbs that maybe defective.

 

Digital Aerials

All apartment blocks are fitted with a digital aerial. Additional aerials such as satellite dishes are not permitted without consultation with the management company.

 

Pets

Pets are not permitted on site without prior written agreement from the Management Company. Should a pet be allowed, we insist fouling is removed immediately. Dogs are not permitted in first floor apartments or allowed roam without a lead.

 

Discrimination Policy

Discriminative behaviour toward a resident or visitor will not be tolerated by Watlands Management Company or the residents committee. Any form of discrimination, be it based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age will be dealt with robustly in conjunction with the relevant authorities.

 

Smoking inside your apartment or on a patio or balcony

Cigarette smoke does filter into adjacent apartments; this can be particularly unpleasant for a non smoker. Smoking inside an apartment also increases your insurance premium. Where ever possible we ask that courtesy is displayed.

 

Building Insurance

The Management Company is responsible for the site building insurance. Vehicles left on Portland Mews are parked at the owner’s risk.

 

Site Services

A communal water tap and electric is available on site for the use of residents.

 

Car Parking Arrangements

Each apartment is allocated one space with additional parking in the visitors parking area. Vans or lettered vehicles are not permitted. Local parking arrangements do operate.

 

Recycling

Portland Mews participates in Newcastle Borough Councils recycling scheme and as such residents are expected to recycle house waste.

 

Points of Note:

 

  • It is the responsibility of each resident to keep the recycling area clean & tidy.

 

  • Recycling is not a choice but a condition within the additional rules and regulations.

 

  • Large items should not be left on the floor or forced into the green bins.

 

  • The management company charge a set fee to deal with unsorted waste and any waste left on the floor.

 

Sub-letting of property

Sub-letting of property is not permitted without the written approval of the Management Company and agreement to additional terms and conditions.
